Fueled by our unique clinical expertise, decades of research, our thriving Youth Sports Injury Prevention Program and a pressing public health need, HSS recently joined forces with Aspen Institute to keep youth on the field and active for life.

Revolutionizing Care for Arthritic Patients 

Theodore A. Blaine, MD, HSS Shoulder and Elbow surgeon, has performed the world’s first implantations of a stemmed elliptical head prosthesis for anatomic shoulder replacement surgery. The breakthrough procedure provides the most anatomic solution for patients with arthritis, and was performed in May at HSS in Stamford, CT.

Recognition for Excellence in Patient Care 

HSS has received the Press Ganey Guardian of Excellence award for the 10^th consecutive year in the category of “patient experience.” Press Ganey also honored HSS for the fourth time in a row with the prestigious Pinnacle of Excellence award based on performance over three years.

New Leadership Appointed at HSS at NCH

HSS and NCH Healthcare System today announced that David L. Helfet, MD, renowned HSS orthopedic trauma surgeon, has been appointed Executive Medical Director of HSS at NCH, the collaboration formed to bring high-quality orthopedic care to southwest Florida. The pioneering collaboration is part of the transformation of NCH to become an Advanced Community Healthcare System. HSS at NCH will bring world class care closer to home for the thousands of southwest Florida residents affected by orthopedic conditions each year.
